About Kerri Ligatich
I live in a tropical rainforest and often use flowers and foliage in my work. I'm in love with the beauty, healthy lifestyle and Aloha spirit I found in Hawaii. My work also includes ocean scenes and my favorite, "Honu", Hawaiian Green Seaturtles. I grew up in Oregon and that is where my art education began. I was blessed to be taught by many great artists. I love to take a technique and explore new creative ways to use them. Adding gold leaf to my watercolors is another favorite of mine. Later I taught many classes myself in Hilo, Hawaii. Thanks Margaret! I bought this cut stem of Orchids at the Farmers Market. It had about a dozen blooms on it and I took lots of photos to use for reference. Once it was down to just a few blooms I saw it showed all side of the flowers really well. So I spent a little more time getting all the details in.
